Dear Parents,

Thank you so much for your support with our fundraiser. Each year, the cost of printing rises so it is necessary to do a spring fundraiser to recoup for paper, toner and fixing of our copy machines. Teachers work on being creative with your student’s assignments in order to save on paper costs. We have the most innovative teachers and I am amazed at their diligence.

With the month of April, comes our SAGE testing. All students, grades 3-6, are scheduled to start testing the last of April through May 15th for math, language and science. Please make sure your child gets plenty of sleep each night, a nutritious breakfast, wear comfortable clothing and is on time for school. Your child has worked very hard this year, and we want them to show their academic progress. The teachers have also worked diligently at teaching your students and they care about their welfare and want what is best for each child. Please encourage your student(s) to try to do their best with the end of year testing.

I would also like to extend my deepest gratitude for all you do to help our school be as successful as possible. I am always overwhelmed with the continual support that we receive from this community. Thank you so much for all you do for the teachers, staff and especially the kids, and a special thank you to the PTA for ALL the support they have given us this year. We have the best of the best!

Mrs. Copeland

First grade newsletter submission:

Wow! The year is quickly speeding by! Our first graders have made so much progress in reading, and we are proud of them! We have learned all the sounds, and we are now focusing on fluency and comprehension. The homework will now have a story to read with comprehension questions that follow. Please continue to listen to your child read the story and talk about what they read.

In math we will be working on 2-digit addends and solving multi-step story problems. We will also continue to practice our math facts. Our first grade students are working hard to earn a banana split at the end of May for passing off all of the “race the clock” math timings. They are very excited about the banana split party!

We would like to thank our wonderful parent volunteers for the fun class spring parties!

We appreciate all of our parents who work so hard for the success of all the children. Have a great spring!!

4th grade continues to be a great place to be.  The students work hard and continue to impress us with their willingness to work hard and try new things.

April is going to be a busy month.

            April 13th field trip 8:45-11:30

April 18th-field trip to see Mary Poppins 8:45-12

            April 27th- Student Market Day

We will not need parent volunteers for either of these field trips.  We will have one more in May that parents are invited to attend.

Please take a moment to complete the teacher surveys.  They are available at on the portal.  It is a great way for us to get feedback and see what we could do better and what we are doing well.

We have talked about going out with a BANG not a fizzle.  This includes homework.  Please make sure your student reads each night and works on Aleks.  We will also be doing end of year testing so please make sure you students come to school on time each day.

Thanks for your continued support.  Your students are amazing!!!
